Stickman Dragon Fight: how the fights work and how to win them

Stickman Dragon Fight takes the cast you recognise from Dragon Ball — the spiky-haired Saiyan, the golden emperor with the tail, the green Namekian — redraws them as stick figures and drops them into a side-view arena. Fights are one-on-one. You have a health bar at the top of the screen, a ki bar under it, and a row of eight buttons: a basic attack on Space, four skills on W, S, F and Q, an ultimate on R, a guard on B and a transformation on Z. The skills are the real game. Each one has a cooldown of a few seconds, so a round is about landing your cooldowns while the opponent's are down, not about mashing Space.

The build on stickmandragonfight.com is the Unity WebGL version by Bazooka 2020, hosted on this domain, so it loads in the page and needs nothing installed. It is a 76 MB download the first time, then it caches; on a school Chromebook expect a minute of loading and a smooth fight after that. Story mode runs stage to stage against harder CPU fighters, Versus offers 1-vs-1 duels or 3-vs-3 team battles, Tournament is a bracket, and the coins you win go on new fighters in the shop.

Controls & mechanics

ActionControlPurpose
MoveA / D (or drag the pad, bottom left)Walk left and right; hold toward the opponent to close the gap
AttackSpaceBasic strike; tap three or four times for a combo string
SkillsW / S / F / QFour abilities per fighter — a beam, a dash strike, a projectile, a rush — each on its own cooldown
UltimateRThe big screen-filling attack, usable once the bar under your portrait is full
GuardBBlock incoming hits; you still take chip damage from beams
TransformZPower up into the next form for more damage and a new set of skill effects

Winning fights against the CPU

  1. Open with the dash skill, not Space: The CPU walks toward you at the bell. A dash strike (F on most fighters) closes the gap and knocks it down before it swings; follow with a Space combo while it is on the floor.
  2. Watch the cooldown rings: Every skill icon greys out and refills clockwise. Do not stand in front of the opponent with all four rings empty — walk away, guard with B, and come back when W or Q is ready.
  3. Save Z for the second half: Transforming swaps your fighter for its stronger form with new skill effects, and the animation is a second in which you cannot act. Use it when the opponent is under half health, right after a knockdown, so the boosted skills finish the round instead of getting interrupted.
  4. Beams beat guard, guard beats combos: B stops the basic combo cold but only softens beams. If the CPU turtles behind its guard, hit it with W or R instead of walking into it.

Key features

  • Cooldown-based combat: Eight inputs per fighter: a basic attack, four skills, an ultimate, a guard and a transformation. Rounds are won by managing cooldowns, not by button speed.
  • Four modes: Story stages against the CPU, Versus in 1 vs 1 or 3 vs 3 teams, a Tournament bracket and a Training room to learn a new fighter's skills.
  • Runs in the page: The Unity WebGL build is served from this domain: no installer, no account, nothing to unlock before you can play.

Game info

  • Title: Stickman Dragon Fight
  • Developer: Bazooka 2020
  • Category: Fighting
  • Platform: Web browser (HTML5)
  • Modes: Story · Versus 1v1 / 3v3 · Tournament · Training

Pro tip: Knockdowns are the safest time to use R. The ultimate has a long start-up animation and a standing opponent will interrupt it with a basic hit; land a dash strike first, then press R while the opponent is still getting up. The CPU does the same to you when it transforms — back off the moment its aura flares.
